At Coln Construction, we provide a personalized approach to construction, where quality and integrity lead our building process, not speed or profit. We don’t just listen to your vision.
We share your vision, and then elevate it with passion, creativity and craftsmanship. That is what serves as the blueprint for Coln’s building foundation.
An approach to building where quality and people matter most.
Coln Construction has been building custom luxury homes and renovating unique spaces in the Greenville, SC area for years. With recent work on Sirrine and Augusta Road, as well as upcoming summer projects for clients expanding their backyard entertainment spaces and restoring their home’s exterior, Coln Construction has become a go-to name for homeowners who are ready to modernize and upgrade their property.
The Coln Construction team of Project Managers, Contractors and Project Coordinators are here to help homeowners build the luxury space of their dreams! Learn more about our team and what inspires them below.
What are are some of your favorite design materials?
One of our favorite design materials to work with is poplar wood for interior trim work. Poplar is technically a hardwood, but is soft enough to take screws and nails and can be sanded easily to take on any stain. Overall, this makes it a better trim material than finger jointed pine.
What are some of your favorite projects to date?
We’ve done many rare projects, including renovating a downtown retail shop with unique wood finishes and restored hardware. A Coln Construction favorite was a golf-simulator room, which we incorporated in a custom luxury build. We installed a putting platform that can move to make the putting surface different for the avid golfer.
What are popular features that you’ve seen during your home builds?
Many of our clients opt for full home builds or complete renovations. We’ve seen a huge uptick in clients who want indoor-outdoor spaces that act as a seamless transition from indoors to outdoors. We’ve installed retractable porch screens, embedded custom lights into bars, and have been asked to put unique trim finishes into homes for a luxury touch.
Do you have any unique projects in the works or that you’re proud of?
We’ve currently started a project restoring a 1920’s home that a father bought for his daughter. We’re bringing up wood from low-country for unique interior finishes, reusing and restoring the limestone that currently surrounds the front porch, building an exterior garden for water efficiency, restoring the exterior siding, which is original mahogany, and adding in a custom tub and range from Italy.
When building, what can a customer expect from you?
Our team is hands-on from start to finish. From the minute you contact us, we’ll be in touch about design choices, budget, and ask for an in-person meeting to get to know your style. Once you sign and start the project, you’ll always have a dedicated Project Coordinator on site who can give you updates and make sure construction is progressing on time. We want all our clients to feel comfortable contacting us post-build for any repairs, follow-up and future renovation.
